My name is Chris Herring, I am a passionate engineer with a love for all disciplines. I have a particular interest in mechatronics, robotics and automation because they encompass such a great diversity of disciplines that no matter what I am building – I am always learning something new. I hold a Diploma in Instrumentation & Control from TAFE and in 2014 I completed my Bachelor of Engineering (Mechatronic Engineering) from the University of Western Australia.
Making, tinkering, hacking, learning and developing my skills as an engineer has always been my hobby in some form or another. I can recall so many little projects that have the lifespan on the order of a day before they are disassembled and parts used for something new, lots of them not too impressive but you would be surprised how much you can learn from a simple robot that follows a line or a series of blinking LED’s. All these small projects have contributed to where I am today – building things that I think are worth sharing with the world.
So I have created this web site for me to share with you the various projects that I am working on, the things I learn and hopefully things that you find interesting.
I am currently a teaching assistant for Mechanical Engineering at the University and beginning post graduate research in the field of biomechanics. I am however actively seeking Graduate opportunities both within Australia and International. Hopefully I can turn my hobby as an Engineer into a career as an Engineer in the near future.
Feel free to contact me about any of my projects. I am an open source advocate so if you have any questions or want to request any code/models/content that I have not posted I am happy to oblige.
